The decision has been made to retire Lightly and sell her. We sincerely thank our co-owners and trainer Tony Parker for their support. Racing Lightly has been more rewarding than any financial return and we remain truly grateful to everyone involved.

With Group winners Vespa (ARC Stakes G1 and Karaka Million LR) and Paximadia (Sandown Guineas G2 Carbine Club G3 and Poseidon LR) both out of Fantastic Light mares, Lightly is a breeding proposition with plenty of Black Type in her Pedigree.

Close to a win as you could get - only a pixel in it!

Lightly  jumped brilliantly from the gates in her start at Werribee on 27 January (as is typical of her), leading all the way - to get done on the line by a nostril. It was almost a triple dead heat, with the two other horses dead heating and Lightly's gutsy run out front relegated to 3rd on the line. Lightly was broken in by Mark Thomas at Seymour. She finally got to the track on Boxing Day 2010 and recorded an impressive first-up, four-length win.

After racing injured for months after her first win and recording two shocking race results, Lightly was brought home to recuperate. She was then resyndicated with a group of friends and transferred to Gale Lodge in Kilmore where, under the guidance of Lee Hope, Lightly won at Bendigo at just her fourth start.  We enjoyed very nice odds of $34.50 the win🙂!

Lightly's latest preparation has produced two wins, two seconds and a third and has her currently racing in the fittest condition she has ever been.
